As the winter of 2008/09 started to fade into spring I found myself wanting to leave the banal and mundane I'd been tied to during the colder months. Unable to take a proper road trip, it became a ritual to awake early saturday mornings in order to take abbreviated day trips. The process usually consisted of choosing roads at random and exploring. The only rule I gave myself was that if I saw something interesting, I had to stop and explore - no exceptions. After driving through countless main street small towns, exploring estate sales and thrift shops, I would turn around and drive home in the evening.
