tinywhitelights
tiny white lights is a recent project I've been working on for a few months now. It currently consists of a blog based website, tinywhitelights.com featuring video work and a series of fifteen 24"x16" archival pigment prints. Below is the artist statement:
My mind won't stop. It ticks and beats along at an unwavering incessant pace, never yielding to my conscious mind's advice to slow, to rest. It runs and runs at a seemingly immeasurable speed, accompanied by a wall of sound that is impenetrable. There are times when the feeling is overwhelming to such a degree that I feel as if the quiet I once had will never return.
Sporadically though, there are splits and scratches, and the cacophony separates and dissolves; the sound subsides and the motion settles, there is peace; and although the noise never fully vanishes, it is distant, and less threatening. And a cinematic sublime gains hold.
